Kite Updraft Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Kite Updraft is the paid advertising service of Kite, a product of Kaplex Industries Inc. (“Kaplex”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada (incorporation no. BC1599302), of 212–1939 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 4W9, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect and access when you book a call with us or when we run Google Ads for your business, why we need it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

If you are a Kite Updraft client, your written service agreement with us also applies. If that agreement and this policy ever differ, the agreement wins.

1. When you book a call

The booking form on the Kite Updraft page asks for your business name, what you do and where, an email or phone number, your monthly ad budget range, and anything else you choose to tell us. It also has an optional box for occasional tips. With the submission we record your browser’s user-agent and the time you agreed, and we use your IP address to limit spam and abuse.

We use this to set up and hold your call and to reply to you. If you tick the optional box, we may send you occasional tips about ads and getting found, and you can opt out of those at any time. We never sell your information.

2. What we access when we run your ads, and why

Your Google Ads account. Your ads run inside your own Google Ads account. You give us access as a manager, and you can remove that access at any time (see section 9). Through that access we see and work with your campaigns, keywords, ads, budgets, spend, the search terms people used, your conversion tracking and your conversions. We use this to set up, run, check and report on your ads.

Google Analytics (GA4), if you connect it. If you connect your Google Analytics property, we read its conversion data so we can see which visits from your ads turned into calls or form enquiries.

Your calendar, if you use budget planning around it. When budget planning around your calendar is switched on for your account, we read your booked jobs and open time, from your Kaplex station or a calendar you connect, so your ads can ease off when you are booked solid. We use this only to plan and report on your ads.

What ad visitors do on your website. If your website carries our ad-visit tracking, a visit that starts from an ad click is recorded in your station with that click’s identifier: the pages viewed, how long the visit lasted, how far down the page it went, the type of device (phone, tablet or desktop), and whether the visitor opened your quote form, tapped to call or text, or sent the form. We use this to see which ads and pages lead to enquiries.

Photos of your work. Your ads are made from photos of jobs you have actually done. We use the photos you give us, or that are already in your Kaplex station, to make your ads.

Your business details. We use what you tell us about your business, your service area and the work you want, to build and run the ads.

3. Your leads

When someone fills in a form from your ad, their enquiry arrives in your Kaplex station with its source, so you can see it came from your ad. A lead usually includes the person’s name, phone number, email, and the job they asked about, along with the click identifier Google adds to ad links so the lead can be matched to the ad that brought it in.

Your ads can show Google’s call button, so people can call you straight from the ad. Google counts those calls in your ad account. We do not record calls, and we do not use tracked or forwarding phone numbers.

When you call a lead back, you tap “contacted” in your station. We use that, and whether the lead became a booked job, to report what your ads did.

We handle your leads’ information on your behalf and only to run and report on your ads. We do not sell it and we do not use it for any other business. Your customers are your customers: your website and your own privacy notice need to tell them that your site uses Google Ads tracking, and we can help you set that up.

4. What Google learns from your website and your calls

Your website carries Google’s own ad tag. When someone who came from your ad sends your quote form, and the enquiry has actually been delivered, the tag tells Google that a quote request was sent. It does not send the person’s name, phone number, email or message. Calls made from Google’s call button are counted by Google itself, in your ad account; a call counts when it lasts 60 seconds or more.

Telling Google which clicks became real jobs. When this report is connected for your account, we report back to Google, in your own ad account, which ad clicks became booked work and what that work was worth, so Google can put more of your budget behind the searches that book. We match each result to its click using the click identifier. If the report ever uses customer contact details for matching (such as an email or phone number), they are hashed before they are sent, and we send only what Google needs to match the result to the click.

5. The automated check

Several times a day our own system checks your ad account automatically. It reads your campaigns, ads, keywords, budget, spend, clicks, calls, conversions and the search terms people used, copies those numbers into your station so you can see them, and carries out the changes you have approved there, such as blocking a search. Anything that needs a person comes to us, and anything that needs your yes comes to you.

6. How we use AI

Kite Updraft is run with the help of AI. We use Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, working through our own tools and the access you give us. To do that work, the AI reads your ad account (your campaigns, ads, keywords, budgets, spend, the search terms people used, and your conversions and calls), the ad numbers and ad-visit records in your station, and, where it needs them to judge which ads are working, the details of leads that came from your ads. That information is sent to Anthropic so the AI can process it.

The AI reviews how your ads are doing, drafts new ads, keywords and the searches to block, and makes changes only within the rules you approved (see section 7). It does not decide to spend more of your money: any change that costs more waits for your approval. We review the AI’s work, and every change it makes is logged so you can see it. We do not use your information to train AI models.

Leads that arrive in your Kaplex station are also covered by how Kore handles client data, including the station’s own AI features.

7. What we change, and what you approve

We handle routine work that stops money being wasted, such as blocking searches that will never hire you and pausing keywords that spend with nothing to show, and we log each change so you can see it. Anything that costs more needs your approval first: raising or lowering your daily budget, new keywords and new ads. Anything that would go over your monthly cap is never automatic.

8. Your ad spend

You own your Google Ads account and Google bills your ad spend directly to your own card. Your ad spend does not pass through us, and we never mark it up. We do not see or store your full card details.

9. Removing our access

You can remove our access whenever you like, without asking us first:

  • Google Ads: in your Google Ads account, open the access settings (Admin, then Access and security) and remove Kaplex as a manager.
  • Google Analytics: remove our access in your GA4 property’s access management.
  • Calendar and other Google connections: remove our access from the third-party connections page of your Google Account.

You can also email us at info@kaplexindustries.com and we will remove it for you. Once access is removed we can no longer run or check your ads. Fees and how the service ends are set out in your service agreement.

10. Google user data

Kite Updraft’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we use data from your Google account only to provide and improve the Kite Updraft service you asked for. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising to anyone, we do not use it to build or train general AI models, and we do not let people read it except with your permission, for security, to comply with the law, or when it is part of running your service.

11. Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers to run Kite Updraft. Each handles information only as needed to provide its service to us:

  • Google: Google Ads in your own account, and Google Analytics and Google Calendar where you connect them.
  • Anthropic: the AI (Claude) that helps us review and run your ads, as described in section 6.
  • Vercel: hosting for our website and your station.
  • Supabase: our database, which stores booking requests, lead records, ad numbers and ad-visit records.
  • Resend: sending email, such as replies to booking requests.
  • Telegram: internal alerts to our team when a booking request comes in.

We also share information where the law requires it, such as a valid legal request. If our business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of it, subject to this policy.

12. Storage outside Canada

Our service providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country, and may be accessed by its courts and government authorities under those laws.

13. How long we keep it

We keep booking requests for as long as we need them to reply and follow up, and we delete them when you ask. For clients, ad and lead records are kept while we provide the service. When the service ends, we remove our access to your accounts, and on your request we return or delete the records we hold, as set out in your service agreement, except where the law requires us to keep something. Your Google Ads account and its history stay with you, because the account is yours.

14. Security

We limit access to your accounts and your leads to the people who need it to run your ads, and we connect to Google using the access you grant rather than your password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

15. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal and contractual limits. If you are a customer of one of our clients and you contacted them through an ad, you can ask them, or us, and we will help. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

16. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
